A1. A national scheme that identifies and recognises junior and beginner friendly golf facilities. As part of the GolfMark Award, once a golf club is awarded they will also be recognised by Sport England as a Clubmark facility - click here for further information on Clubmark.
A2. Golf clubs who take part in the GolfMark process are demonstrating their commitment to developing junior and beginner golf as well as aspiring to reach the national standard for quality sports clubs. Click here to view a full list of the benefits.
A3. The EGU/EWGA will provide your golf club with a certificate to display and also the logo to use on your website, letterhead etc. Your club will also be shown as an accredited golf club on the GolfMark website and also on the Clubmark website - click here to view. Press releases are also sent out to local newspapers detailing your award.
A4. Clubmark is the national standard for quality sports, recognised across the country. Clubmark is incorporated into the GolfMark scheme – click here for further details
A5. Golf clubs can register for GolfMark online by clicking on 'Apply' or via post or e-mail development@englishgolfunion.org Once registered, your golf club will need to complete the self-assessment. For full details of the GolfMark procedure click here

A7. The EGU/EWGA have a joint Development Officer network consisting of 8 officers. The Development Officer who is assigned to your county will conduct the assessment meeting and will also be your initial contact regarding GolfMark to provide guidance before and after the assessment. A8. To ensure all areas of the golf club are represented at the meeting, the Club Secretary, Professional, Junior Organiser, Club Captain and representative from the ladies’ section should all be present (if possible). To discuss this further please contact your Regional Development Officer.
A9. By looking through the ‘full assessment’ your golf club will be able to see what areas are to be assessed and by clicking on the 'more info' buttons you can view what information/evidence will be required during the assessment. If you have any queries relating to any of the information/evidence you can contact your Development Officer prior to the meeting.
A10. The GolfMark Award lasts for 3 years, at this stage your golf club will be re-assessed on all areas of the award by a Development Officer. On an annual basis your golf club will have a GolfMark review, which will be completed online to ensure no major changes have taken place.
A11. If your golf club is not at the required standard to achieve GolfMark, the Development Officer for your area will help your golf club work towards achieving GolfMark by addressing the areas that require attention.
